Mareesh Kumar Issar is currently working as MTS-II software engineer in OneWeb project at Hughes Network Systems, USA. Before joining Hughes, he graduated from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 2020 with a masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He received his B.Tech with Honors in Electronics and Communications Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela in 2017.
At Rutgers University, he was a Research Assistant at Wireless Information Network Laboratory - WINLAB, where he completed his masters thesis titled - “E-ASSOC: Enhanced Energy Efficient User ASSOCiation Algorithm for Future Cellular Networks” under the guidance of Prof. Dipankar Raychaudhuri. His broad areas of interest include Software Engineering, Wireless Systems and Artificial Intelligence.
Mareesh has also participated in several hackathons and his project “HomeDerm” was awarded the best COVID-19 project award at Stanford University’s “Building for Digital Health: Virtual Buildathon” in 2020. He is also a recipient of National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholarship in 2009.
Away from work, he enjoys hiking, volunteering, playing piano, and reading books. As a member of the Information and Planning Team at American Red Cross, he was responsible for the design, integration and launch of the official NJ Regional Operation Summary.
